Hey there! Thanks for stopping by the new Substack digs.

And if you subscribed, double thanks! My plan is to keep these posts free for the foreseeable future, since I honestly don’t know how often I’ll be able to commit to posting new stuff and frankly I don’t want that kind of pressure.

But when I DO post, I want it to be worth your time. To start, I think I have a good one that you’ll see here on January 1, to ring in 2025 on a hopeful note. More on that soon!

What will I write about here? Well, I love Star Wars, tiki bars, and Disney. I really like talking and writing about visual effects, sound design, and behind-the-scenes aspects of filmmaking. On that note, lately I’ve been lucky to fulfill a dream of writing feature stories for Lucasfilm’s Industrial Light & Magic and Skywalker Sound, and I’ll make sure to link to those pieces as they publish. (There’s a bunch of fun ones coming up!)

Sometimes, I get asked to co-author Star Wars books (I still can’t believe it either) and I plan to spend considerable time hyping my friends and their cool projects too.

I recently left a long career in network TV news (mostly at ABC) and am currently taking some time off to explore what career move comes next. So if you need a handy Star Wars podcast guest in the meantime, let me know!
